Director's Welcome

A Message from our Director

Whether your visual impairment is recent or long-standing, at the Computer Center for Visually Impaired People, we’ll help you access your computer, so that you can access the world. Learn to surf, do e-mail, manage the numbers in your life, or write anything from a letter to your memoir. The personal computer that talks or displays in enlarged print makes all this possible. We have the instructors and tutors to support you as you learn.

If you’re new, come to one of our Open Houses and see what we have to offer.

If you’re returning, check out our new distance learning offerings or on site courses in Word, Surfing the Net, Excel, and PowerPoint. If you’re a job seeker, consider the Career Checkup or learn to use New York JobZone. If you’re working and having problems with software, check out our new Scripting service. Finally, if your favorite Web sites are getting you down, let the owners know about CCVIP’s Web Usability Testing service.

I wish you fun and great success as you begin or continue your journey with accessible computing.

CCVIP is here to help.

Karen Luxton-Gourgey, Director
